Today we’re making a true street-food sandwich beast: Torta Cubana. This Mexican sandwich is famous for being loaded with just about everything and still coming together perfectly in the end. Ingredients for 1 Cuban-Style Sandwich (Torta Cubana):

- 2 eggs

- a small piece of onion, sliced

- 4 large slices cooked ham

- 2–3 sliced sausages (e.g., frankfurters or Vienna sausages)

- a handful of iceberg lettuce

- 4 tomato slices

- pickled jalapeño slices, to taste (optional)

- avocado, to taste

- mashed/refried bean spread (see video link above)

- 1 large sandwich bread (e.g., telera)

- pork steak (leg cut works great)

- 1 beef cutlet (schnitzel-style)

- a little Oaxaca cheese (you can replace it with mozzarella or scamorza)

- 1 slice Gouda or Emmental

- mayonnaise, to taste

- 2–3 tbsp butter
